Rainton is a small village located in the borough of Harrogate, there are around 120 houses and many listed buildings including a medieval Dovecote. The village used to be mainly farming and agricultural but is now a chic, modern commuter village, as it is very close to an A1 road. There is a village school called Baldersby St James and a very sought after school called Queens Mary’s School on Topcliffe road which is a little outside the village. There are two free houses the Bay Horse Inn and The Lamb. To the east lies the village Asenby and a very famous sea food restaurant, The Crab and Lobster.
There is a park which has been financed through fundraising and nothing else. There is also a chapel in Rainton and to the north a village called Baldersby St James that has a very well known steeple.
